Testimonials

My husband suffered a stroke in January 2019 and, as a result, has significant aphasia. Since then he has worked with several speech therapists. We discovered Gail a year ago and she has been wonderful in helping him making significant improvements in his spontaneous speech. Her expertise is without question. It’s her caring, personalized approach that sets her apart. She interacts with my husband as the intelligent person he is, albeit with aphasia. She uses several approaches, not fixating on only one. My husband actually enjoys the sessions with Gail and he leaves them feeling successful, not discouraged, as he sometimes did in other circumstances.

When you look up the definition of Speech Language Pathologist there should be a picture of Gail Weissman. Her evaluation and treatment of people who have difficulty with speech and language is spot on! Gail has been working with my husband who has Aphasia as a result of a stroke. He has learned strategies and has improved significantly. We are so excited about her new book. We have read it to our grandchildren, who love it. The delightful story is filled with uncomplicated definitions and activities that will help a child understand what Aphasia is, and what they can do when they spend time with their loved one.

I have known Gail Weismann for over 10 years in her role as Speech Pathologist to my husband who suffered a stroke and has aphasia and apraxia. From the beginning of our journey, Gail has always included our family in any treatment suggestions and answered questions we might have. As a speech pathologist Gail has analyzed and instituted treatment which has enabled my husband to continue to regain communication through multiple technics. I can’t say enough about Gail’s dedication, compassion and empathy towards my husband and our family.

I’m writing to praise Gail Weissman, who has been working with my wife, Joellen, for the past three years following her stroke and loss of speech. Gail is a highly competent speech/language therapist, but goes beyond her training and skills when working with her. She shows a genuine interest in Joellen as a person and demonstrates compassion and warmth. I firmly believe that my wife’s progress is just as much due to Gail’s superb bedside manner and warm personality as it is the result of her professional training and experience. While it is unfortunate that Joellen requires speech/language therapy, she very fortunate to have Gail as her treating clinician.
